The Boys & Girls Club of LMV’s Anti-bullying Jamboree, held in April of this year, has been recognized by the Yankee Chapter Professional Association Award for The Arts. This important event, organized by club Program Director Gene Dion, involved participation of 12 other clubs in a day-long program of interactive learning, empathy and entertainment.  A total of 170 club members attended.

Highlights included a live performance by the band “Steel Fingers”, a graffiti board and games room activities, including intense matches in the Interactive Zone with Xbox 360 Kinect. Participants also heard talks on bullying by County Sheriff Frank Cousins, Amesbury’s Beth Noseworthy and Scott Herman, who overcame bullying and went on to a notable career in fitness and TV roles.

Kudos to Gene and the Club on their recognition on this important program.
